An introduction
Ava enters the saga when her world is being erased backwards. Her encounter with Corran makes the first book’s questions of continuity immediate: history is not only something she studies, but something from which she may be removed.
Why this encounter matters
Her early place in the story is active. The first book ends with her trusted at the controls while Corran rests. Ava and Corran become lovers in Book 1; their attraction is an important part of her decision to stay. Her growing attachment to Cal changes that relationship over the next adventures.
