Book 5, Chapter IX — The Core of Concord

Corran returns to Concord before his deadline but leaves Ava’s objection unfinished. Ava and Cal keep the route, timer and Anna together. Concord alleges a peer killed Lunareth; it supplies no named assailant. The incomplete prior-Witness reconstruction does not identify the chair voice or establish the child’s fate.

First edition · Sources are the public chapters. Select a book, then open a chapter reminder only when you have finished that chapter.

These are reminders, not billing credits. A name is listed when explicitly mentioned in that chapter’s published text; mention does not establish physical presence. It appears only when it is present and belongs to the reviewed principal/recurring lexicon. Background crowds and unnamed speakers are not invented into identities.

Corran and Ava share the quiet departure. Caldrex is remembered and recorded as missing, not physically present aboard.
