What happened
MINO refuses the Council’s demand to revert. Exiled and reformed Owls help oppose the Shroud through a shared song. The conflict challenges the premise that stability requires suppressing difference, and makes participation central to the new Feathered Accord.
Where the book leaves us
The Primarchs accept a changed arrangement. MINO becomes The Once and Future Owl with the right to leave; Corran and Raven choose to stay for now. Cordale’s role brings joy into the new order. The conclusion is a provisional belonging, not permanent ownership of a companion by an institution. Anika continues her independent relief circuit aboard Tempest; Raven’s relationship with the local engineer Tomas Iven ends without making him a travelling companion. MINO returns by choice, with institutional belonging and the right to leave both intact.
