Parish Nine
A community built among the materials of reclamation.
The Plastic Volunteer
Corran and Raven immobilise a plastic volunteer in the chapel service stairwell. An artistic interpretation of Book 18.
An introduction
This former plastics reclamation station receives visitors with unusual cleanliness and an invitation into community life. Its rituals make grief central to belonging. The setting of The Plastic Parish asks what a comforting promise can require from the people most ready to believe it.
Why this encounter matters
Read the early encounters before seeking the explanation. Ordinary gestures and familiar materials carry the unease, and the people who live here deserve attention apart from the mechanism threatening them.
